I have written over 50 books of all sorts, for all ages. Picture books, longer chapter books, fiction and non fiction, myths, legends and folk tales. You may see the same book in several places in this “Books” section. Some of my books have been written especially for use in schools but they are also enjoyed by children reading at home, and my picture books are used in schools and nurseries as well. Some of my books have been translated into other languages such as French and Portuguese.
Books I Have Contributed To
Reading Round Edinburgh
A Guide to Children’s Books of the City, with an introduction by J.K. Rowling. My books are featured several times in this review of books about Scotland’s capital city which talks about the places in Edinburgh that inspired authors to set their stories there. Find out about the route Greyfriar’s Bobby took every day from the graveyard to the coffee shop and also what inspired me to send Hamish and friends on their Edinburgh Adventure. Sally J. Collins, the illustrator of the Hamish and Bobby books, also tells why she finds Edinburgh so inspiring.
